I'm sure someone has mentioned this project before. I think it was MAC only then. It appears there's been some changes but haven't got time to look in depth apart from seeing what's on the front page...
These newer compilations of the climate model require SSE2 extensions in your CPU for Windows and Linux. Therefore an Intel Pentium IV or 'higher' (i.e. Pentium M, Core Duo, Core 2 Duo etc); or a newer AMD (e.g. Athlon XP does not support SSE2) will be required.
And for Mac OS X users, you will need an 'Intel-based' Mac.
Which seems to indicate all platforms are now supported. Don't know if it's open to all but I know a man who can....

Basically they want it to be private and have chosen enough testers which is why it is not advertised
