Just went to 'Help' - 'Check for Updates' and RC3 available!

Gotta try it! Probably not much difference to RC2!

Here for the quick find!

Slow unresponsive always crashing etc etc

No one on the forums there could seem to point out to the cause of the problems so I just ditched it

That's what IE is always like for me!

Hope 2.0 works out better.

I use it every day and very rarely the same computer each day, I've used it on two different computers today, both ones I've never used and both have a connection of 8Mbps. Always seems slow and very primitive compared to Firefox.

Been using RC3 for a day, seems pretty much the same as 1.5 except appearance, and it seems a little slower, could be because the fasterfox extension wasn't compatible.

It's out, but until it's officially announced, you'll have to hunt it down at a local mirror.

firefox/releases/2.0/win32/en-GB (or change the last 2 to suit your preference...)

Am using it now. Seems to be running pretty smoothly even without the Fasterfox extension.

Cool. Just noticed that it is spell checking this window as I'm typing it...

I've been using firefox 2 on my linux box at home for the last couple of days and apart from a couple of little niggles, I'm quite pleased with it.
today I did a google for firefox tips and found a mozilla page with loads of tips (this one).
On that page in the Other Tips section is an Enable Pipelining link. Well I've just done what it suggests and firefox really flies now, I don't know if its the same frig that fasterfox uses (never used it) but it really has made a difference to page loading times.
Well worth giving it a go

Hi John

I've just done the 'enable pipelining' thang on my Winders setup and it's really speeded things up for me too.

Thanx for sharing that with us.

Beyond setting FF as your default browser, I don't know. Quite possible that MSN is tied to IE.

Use a better chat client like Trillian that supports MSN, ICQ, AIM, IRC etc...
