Went through some in a taxi between Glasgow and Prestwick airport on Sunday.  It was only a mile or two and very thin, but I counted at least half a dozen cars off the road in that short space of time.

None down here in Bracknell just yet.

BTW The Met Office was based here for many years until it moved to Exeter a couple of years back.  They frequently got the forecast for our area wrong - they only had to look out of the window to see what was happening!  They'd say sunny when it was raining all day, windy when we had snow etc.

So I don't tend to believe them any more.

So, you weren't the "lady" who phoned the BBC to say she thought there was a hurricane coming....(this relates to back in October 1987 !!)...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/bbcweather ... torm.shtml

Where is that woman and why isn't she famous now....? (Or even working as a forecaster at the Met Office...!)

Had a reasonable covering this morning - which meant that the kids I work with were completely hyper and wouldn't do a thing.  All gone by lunchtime though.

I met an Aussie on the way to work - he was in his 30's but acting like a little kid and grinning like a Cheshire Cat because this was the first time he'd ever seen snow.

Bless!

We had a couple of inches overnight (S. Bucks) and it's snowed a bit since.  Looks pretty!
<rant> Can't believe how pathetic some drivers are - I was stuck behind a Vitara (crap car!) doing less than 20 on a road that was only slushy!!!!</rant>

Most snow I've seen here since I was knee high to a horny backed toad and it's still coming down

It's been a constant "light" fall since just before 8am here in Cambridge - shows no sign of stopping yet....

Just as well I'm not going out today....didn't fancy having to take "avoiding action" from idiots who don't know how to control their vehicle in the snow.

I think they did over-hype it.

Glad you all have snow but here in Ashton Under Lyne there is nothing. I had an early start this morning expecting to scrape the car so i got up an hour early.

And guess what there was not even ice on the car and it felt very warm.

But now even in the afternoon its still to warm to snow.

I am going to go up into the hill's later.

I am going to find snow some way or another.
