In your profile add the country (Europe then Royaume-Uni) and city/area you want. Then go to the above link and you'll find you've been added.

At the moment there are only 3 in the UK and guess what - they're UBT'ers! (Assuming it's 'our' Gary)

Hi Mike, been registered with the forum for some time, how long does it take for the info to show up on the map?
I have gone into my profile on the UotD site and selected Europe then Royaume-Uni and typed "Ilchester", down to btm of page hit submit and wait, still not showing? Is it me ??

is the section but it sounds like that's where you were. I just changed to Ireland to see how fast it updates and it was immediate! Back in the UK now though.

Not sure what happening for you - you definatley clicked 'submit' at the bottom? Does the profile still say where you are - Europe, royal uni (?)whatever) place?

I managed to register on this site and it worked fine for me!  That makes six of us now !!!

Don't forget to register yourself on the forum and add in the 'Localisation sur la carte des membres' where you are (Works for most members). You should find yourself on the map if it works!

A few UBT'ers have registered on the site, but some are not shown on the map:

Not shown for whatever reason (even if details entered in their Myboinc profile):
UBT - Halifax--Lad - no town/city listed - not shown
UBT-Timby - "Ilchester, Somerset, UK"  - not shown
Terry Caney - no town/city listed - not shown
Rockinfroggi - "United Kingdom" - not shown
UBT - bobuk - no town/city listed - not shown

And these members are shown on the map, but there are inconsistencies compared to the myboinc profile settings...!
ANCHULA&MARK - BISHOPS STORTFORD (profile shows nothing)
Gary - Sussex - doesn't match profile (profile shows nothing)
Greenways Court - Consett - matches profile
UBT - Chris Suddick - Warrington - doesn't match profile (profile shows UK)
UBT - Mikeejones - Wrexham - matches profile
UBT - Rick Horn - Halifax - matches profile

EDIT: Sorry peeps - just realsied, after Mikes later post, that you have to enter your address TWICE....

Once on the Profile, under "Location" and then AGAIN underneath this, in the section named:

Locate on members mapmembres

In this bit, you select: Royaume-Uni
and then add your town/city name....!

SORTED !!

This is all VERY STRANGE....how can the myboinc map "invent" where someone lives, if it's not on the profile....? And likewise NOT include you if you do enter a town/city address....?

I did post on the forum but as to date no reply from admin?
Never mind in a better mood now, just picked the winning loto numbers for tonights draw (I wish)

"Location" and map info are not necesarily the same as in the profile.

Location & 'Localisation sur la carte des membres' can be different depending on what the user has put in. In my case I have 'Wrexham, North Wales' as a location and just 'Wrexham' in the 'Ville' box.

UBT - bobuk - no town/city listed - not shown

check out Germany - Allemagne, bobuk is there in Manchester  :lol:  :lol:

It`s a rum situation. There`s only 18 members on the map in the whole of Europe, 11 of which are UK members. There are only 3 members in France and it`s their outfit!
As to how you get on the map, I don`t know. All I did is joined their forum and put a sig on.

For what ever reason I've still been unable to get this to work for me so I'm gonna try emigrating. COME ON AUSSIES

Edit I'm unpacking my suitcase, this plonker just managed to work it out and is now on the list.

For those still having problems adding themselves, use MikeeJonses original link http://www.mappemonde.net/carte/MyBoinc/europe.html but instead of going to profiles click on the register button in the top left hand corner, fill in your details submit and POOF, you are on the list.

While trying to edit the profile have got on there twice and cannot get rid of the one I do not want

Have you tried to remove it from the edit button on the map page? By deleting all your details and re-submitting?

Well I'm there now too - but I don't think I went through all the palaver that Timbo said to do - I couldn't find those links.

I think I found a way to remove your twin on the map, i tried it on myself but  I only have one entry.

If you remove all your details such as team, avitar and town, then change your region to some obscure place like the Ukraine which will remove you from the UK map, whether or not you will need to do it with both to get rid of the one you want I'm unsure, but if that is the case then you just need to resubmit yourself again with the correct details.

That reminds me, I'd better put myself back in the UK, it's bl%*$y cold in the Ukraine.

Thanks I had tried that (not the Ukraine but other places), just does not seem a way to totally remove the details.

don't forget UBT has a page http://www.ukboincteam.org.uk/uk-boinc-team.html  where you can add your location - Team members by UK area.  :D

Hi all,

THIS is the thread that I was searching for....another "oldie" from 7 years ago - it's a map that allows you to specify your location within UK.

To ADD yourself, you need to click on the registration icon at top left, and for the location select Map = "Europe" and then Subdivision = "Royaume.uni".
