Overtake AMD Users?

According to my calculations we should overtake them VERY soon. I've been calculating the overtake for the last week or so, and the passing time is fast approaching.
Calculation results:
Using Project RAC pass in 3.19 days
Using overtake formula pass in 7.09 days
Using BOINCstats RAC pass in 10.77 days
Average of all three: 7.01 days
But project RAC is not very accurate as we all know due to some RACs not decaying so an average of the other two, with the more accurate BOINCstats RAC: pass in 8.93 days (probably the most accurate estimate)

A little update:
Calculation results:
Using Project RAC pass in 1.35 days
Using overtake formula pass in 1.82 days
Using BOINCstats RAC pass in 4.30 days
Average of all three: 2.49 days
More accurate average (not including project RAC): pass in 3.06 days (probably the most accurate estimate)
Could be sooner than passing SwissTeam.NET! 8)

Another daily update:
Calculation results:
Using Project RAC pass in 1.01 days
Using overtake formula pass in 2.16 days
Using BOINCstats RAC pass in 3.43 days
Average of all three: 2.20 days
Average not including project RAC: pass in 2.79 days (probably the most accurate estimate)
Closer and closer! 8)

Using Project RAC pass in 0.77 days
Using overtake formula pass in 1.82 days
Using BOINCstats RAC pass in 2.70 days
Average of all three: 1.76 days
Average not including project RAC: pass in 2.26 days (probably the most accurate estimate)
We can smell them now!

Daily update:
Calculation results:
Using Project RAC pass in 0.76 days
Using overtake formula pass in 2.16 days
Using BOINCstats RAC pass in 2.70 days
Average of all three: 1.88 days
Average not including project RAC: pass in 2.43 days (probably the most accurate estimate)
AMD had a good day with almost identical daily credit to us so not much change from yesterday's estimate.

At 1.00am BOINCstats show us ahead of SwissTeam.NET by 1000 credits.

yup! I don't know which we are going with,
http://www.boincstats.com/stats/boinc_t ... pr=bo&st=0
or
http://chase.ukboincteam.com/
but I feel a celebration coming on in any case!

It usually takes about a day or two for the 3rd party stats sites to show us clear of any team we've passed, simply because the stats sites are using the XML's exported from each project (which are output at different times each day) which they then "collate" to generate the stats, which takes time.
And if not ALL the XML's are collated, then the stats sites will be under-quoting the actual totals, which seems to be where we're at with BOINC stats - right now, they show us with 52,956,992 credits and yet we had 53,033,483.78 credits as of 12 noon yesterday !!
As such, 3rd party stats sites only provide a "snapshot" based on whatever info they can get, which might not be 100%.
The UBT stats are "real time" as they are collected directly from the projects themselves and hence are independant of the XML's.
So our stats page is more up to date and usually is more accurate.
And as of 9am today, we're still behind SwissTeam.NET by approx 78,000 credits, and based on our RAC, we should pass them by sometime tomorrow.
regards
Tim

Yup - you might have to break out
2 sets of party hats, as we might just squeeze past AMD Users tomorrow as well....!

Tim

Daily update:
Calculation results:
Using Project RAC pass in 0.40 days
Using overtake formula pass in 1.20 days
Using BOINCstats RAC pass in 1.50 days
Average of all three: 1.03 days
Average not including project RAC: pass in 1.35days (probably the most accurate estimate)
Only 22,000 behind according to BOINCstats. It could be tomorrow! If we have a good day/they have a bad day or if a climate cruncher with a few credits joins!
World highest position of 33 beckons 8)

I think this thread has jinxed us  A member with 115,000 on CPDN joined them to muck up my calculations!
And once we do get past them we should stay ahead, they'll miss out on any Core 2 Duos and Quads

?
Don't need to be exclusive AMD to join them.

But I doubt many intel users would want to

I was thinking of people with AMD and Intel rather than Intel alone (I cannot be the only cruncher with both). My machines are evenly split between the two types but if I were get a tie breaker it would be another AMD as they out-perform the Intels on most Boinc projects I run

I take it you don't have Core 2 Duos or Quads?

No just comparing at roughly equal cost an Intel Pentium D CPU 3.40GHz, 2Gb ram 270 Gb disk and an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600+ with same size ram and disk, AMD gets more credit per WU. Same with the slower machines my Intel Pentium D CPU 2.80GHz and AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+ again both with 2Gb ram ( although only 180 Gb disk on the Intel). The AMD's do not get as hot or make as much noise as the Intel's either although if a good Intel was really cheap I would consider it but would have to think about the cost of getting air con

YES YES YES
BOINCstats show us above AMD Users. OK for the next few days we may swap places but the signs are good to keep the 33rd place for a while
http://boincstats.com/stats/boinc_team_ ... pr=bo&st=0
BUT Einstein at Work in 38th place have just done 3 days at 650,000 a day, and will soon catch up (about 7 days?) at that rate
