Would it be possible to show who is in the chat at the top of the page rather than the bottom? I'm sure most people don't notice it most of the time, people sometimes have to post to bring attention to it

Its in danger of getting too cluttered now at the top of the forum, I think it would be an idea to keep it where it is next to the list of people who are online in the forum

Thats a good idea Doug, would be much more visible
If its pushed for room at the top, the Usergroups link could be removed as its unused (I think)
and/or maybe move the List Avatars link to the bottom

Must admit I think it would be an awful lot more visible up there too.

Are you kidding? have you seen the devastation one pixie could cause, let alone 20 of the little blighter's then if they invite their friends the trolls, elves and fairies they could wreak havoc on the forum.
And there was you thinking one Frog was a nightmare

I don't think that information is available when the header of each page is produced.
I will check but I think the list of people is generated in the body of the page. If it is possible I will move ALSO show it at the top and then we can see if it looks OK or not.
I don't want to start moving chunks of SQL code from the body to the header because I am unsure how the rest of the forum will handle it.
I will take a look at the code this evening.
