Made it to 100k at last!

Helped along by running BOINC on my new I7 based PC!

Must try CUDA next, how reliable is that now? I'd read that there were issues with it. I don't want to screw up my new PC. BTW, my graphics card is a 9800GT.

Well done that man

I've not tried seti on a cuda card but gpugrid has been stable for a long time.
I've run it on a range of cards from a 8800GS upto a GTX295. I think you could expect something around 3.5k per day from a 9800GT

Nice one Jeffers, i assure you with an i7 at the helm you will reach 200k much quicker  :)

I have tried both the SETI Beta and GPUGrid apps and they both appear to be very stable now for me, however at this current moment of writing this the SETI server isn't allowing anyone to upload their results which is annoying. GPU Grid is probably recommended for now.  :thumbright:

Got to 200k now! It's taken less than a month to get my second 100k, that's what happens running an I7 quad and CUDA on GPU! At this rate I'll have a million within a year!

Yep, it's very impressive!

Task manager with CPU usage displayed looks very interesting!

Crikes, and here was me contemplating a quad core lol..

They don't exactly shout about the i7 being an octo-core do they now :D

What have you got and what Ghz is it running at ?

My budget only allowed me to go for the 920. It's running at 2.7GhHz, I've not messed about with any overclocking.

8 x 2.7 Ghz .. oohhhhhhhhhhhh  :D

Well I know what chip will be in my next pc once Ive burnt this 2 x 2.66 out ;)

Do you run all 8 cores 24/7 ?

It's not 8 cores, it's 4 cores with multi-threading giving the effect of having 8. (I'd attach a pic of the task manager if I could work out how to do it!)

And yes, I'm running it 24x7 at the moment
