Hi everyone, I just joined the team after running SETI@HOME for a while but I've never taken an active interest in teams until now  :D

I have the project running when I'm in bed and when I'm out as it's my only computer, 2.13ghz dual core. it plods along nicely.

Hi Siborg, if you have a Windows Live Messenger or similar one of us can walk you through setting up the GPU for Milkyway if you want, or drop one of us a PM..

Cheers

Like Timby says (it is fairly easy to do)

or

Wait a couple of weeks and MilkyWay might have ATI GPU apps downloading automatically.
Keep an eye on this MW forum thread

I think milkyway now downloads the ATI client automatically to your PC? Might be worth checking to see if it is using it now  :D

Good man! Make sure it is using your GPU (if it is capable though). Not sure how long the CPU version takes but think it's in the region of 6-10hrs?

GPU can be as quick as <1min per WU on high spec cards

Well the 1st WU I have says 2m 41s so that's not too bad  :D

Yeah good point Temujin  :D
I have an ATI 4870 and I'm really happy with it. The last WU for Milkyway took 36 seconds

I wish I could run that much but as it's my only computer it's only crunching for about 8-12 hours a day. Depending on how late in the day I decide to be lazy and lie in bed lol.

8-12 hours on milkyway with a gpu is pretty good   I have mine on for much less then that but usually manage to do between 10-25k in a day...ish  :)
