Idea
click the box that stops guests from posting, all they need to do is then register, 5min job. also stops spambots.

Not a box that I can find BUT I am going through setting all fora to Registered so they have to login, I hope!

I believe its in the forum config section on the admin panel. just select the box for each forum you want registered to be able to write.
might be useful to have a Forum Help section for non-registered to write/read
