I have installed the linux version. Took about 7H 35M with the stock app and about 6H 20M with the optimised app. Both work units claimed 177.11 credits so were the same size/work load. Stock app = 23.61 credits per hour, optimised = 27.97 credits per hour
Below is a link to my PC's results if anyone want's a look.

Am I correct that you run an AMD 64 3000+ and is it overclocked?
The optimised client took 22798 seconds for 177 credits
On SAP my AMD 64 3000+ took 22777 seconds for 74 credits
Even the non optimised client gives massive more credit then Seasonal

Where does Seasonal come in with an Einstein Optimised Science App
Seasonal has set credits so no amount of any type of optimised BOINC core or optimised science app for seasonal could affect a seasonal score

It's not overclocked. Einstein would appear to be a lot more generous with the credits. The 74 credits Seasonal gives in 22777 seconds works out at about 11.7 credits per hour which is about what I would get on SETI using the standard app.
Seems that Einstein with the optimised app is the project to do at the moment to help us up the rankings.

Even the non optimised client seems to give about 23 credits per hour which is twice the amount other projects give. The standard client must work well for the AMD processor which is why Bruce Allen is racking up 650,000 credits a day with his farm of 750+ Opterons

The credit is done by FLOP's counting like Seti so makes no difference what type of processor is used.
