Quick Horn.
Can someone explain to me how Rick Horn has jumped 53 places in 24 hours on Johns combined stats?
Whilst I applaud his veracious appetite for credits the fact he has now over taken me after I fought hard to leave him standing, he has now pushed me down 1 place has turned me a hulkier shade of green.
Is there somewhere you can purchase bulk credits on the black market or did he just beat me to that job at IBM?
Gary.

Re: Quick Horn.
It "COULD" be because the stats site has merged his 2 CPID's...Rockinfroggi wrote:Can someone explain to me how Rick Horn has jumped 53 places in 24 hours on Johns combined stats?
If you look here:
http://www.boincsynergy.com/stats/index ... earchteam=
you'll see he has:
On CPID: fb80f8bf56f333fab82c26037c1567c0, currently 51,460 credits on these projects:
QMC@Home
SZTAKI Desktop Grid
Rosetta@Home
ABC@home
uFluids
Distributed Rainbow Table Generator
Spinhenge@home
vtu@home
SETI@Home Beta
and on CPID: 2d3606152568eb81f0454f7e3600281f around 26,023 credits from the following projects:
PrimeGrid
MalariaControl.net
World Community Grid
Einstein@Home
So, if the stats have now been merged, (where before they were separate) this would then increase his ranking position....
What was his credits total before he jumped 53 places?
regards
Tim

Tim is spot on.
If you look at the combined2 page, there are 2 records for UBT - Rick Horn 1 at 147 and 1 at 600 (and a Rick Horn at 800)
the #147 gives a 28 day rank graph of this and the #600 gives a graph of this
The 2 graphs mirror each other quite well.
I'm not sure which project keeps changing CPID but that is whats doing it (einstein has 23k, so could be that).
#147 currently has 12 projects, abc, einstein, lhc, qmc, rosetta, setibeta, simap, spinhenge, sztaki, tmrl, ufluids and vtu
#600 has 3, malaria, primegrid and WCG
#892 has 1, einstein

Gary.
Only a tenner....no Hob Nobs then?
Of course there is another way.....change your name on some of the projects to someone else's name that has got loadsa credits....then the stats sites will get confused and you can bask in the glory of appearing to have leap-frogged (sic) everyone !!
Not sure if it'll work, (and depends on whether ALL the stats sites use the CPID), but worth a chance

I'll start with all the names beginning with the letter T first so that's Timbo, Timby and Temujin. That should give me a bit of a boost.
Failing this I'll just do it the hard way and crunch like everyone else meaning I get to keep the Hobnobs to myself.
Fraudulent Frog.
