AVG Free problem

My AVG Free won`t update. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, but with the same result. It also flagged up "missing .bin file".
I also tried a restore point, but it wouldn`t let me get back further than this morning, after the problem occurred.
I`m using Windows Vista.
I`m way out of my depth on this one. Can anyone help please.

morning rick...i woke up to just same thing as above...
tried all what you did, binned the lot and tried from scratch...
still no joy :>(

so your not alone..... see what the 'morrow  brings...

That`s rather strange! Maybe AVG have given us a duff download.

I had the same problem this morning.

Don't know if it just cleared itself or several reboots fixed it but it seems to be okay now.

Tried uninstalling again, then rebooted before reinstalling.
Everything is now back to normal.  :hello1:

Seems to be a vista problem. I'm running AVG 8 Free on XP home and haven't experienced any problems at all.

It was a problem on thier server all AVG users had the same problem
But all ok and for those in any doubt AVG is still one of the best going
