We're really cooking now !

Post by UBT - Timbo »

Hi all,

Been looking at how well the Team has been progressing of late and it's now obvious that we will soon be "pushing" OcUK pretty hard over the coming months.

- Our daily RAC is now over the 100k mark  8) :

- Our Team membershp is very close to 750 members... :D !

- And in the last 9 months (since end Feb 2006), our World ranking has improved from 54th place (then) to 39th, (nearly 38th place) today :D

So, with around 6 weeks to go until the end of the Year, let's hope we can continue the "momentum" we've now built up and let's see about having a "crack" at OcUK in the New Year.....!

It's a big ASK I know.....they are 77 million credits ahead of us and we'd need to out-RAC them by 200,000+ credits A DAY (if my calculations are right), so we need to triple our current credit production - or at least double it, to stand a chance of making up some of the gap....!

Whaddya say?

regards

Tim

Just had a look at the BOINCStats here.

Over the last 4 weeks both OcUK and ourselves produced over 3.3 million credits each but the difference between the teams was only 6504 over the month! It would have only taken 1 more reasonably fast computer to match them!

Don't forget though that the BOINCstats month figure includes one-off 'payments' from people joining on the CPDN projects which are not, strictly speaking, part of our RAC. Also, as I recall, there was one of our members who cashed in a large number of SAP credits during the month as well which would inflate our monthly figure.

Ah yes - forgot about that - that was a 100,000 boost IIRC.

Apart from a couple of blips membership is steadily increasing daily.

A quick calculation shows we might hit 1000 members around the beginning of May. Now that would be worth celebrating!

Good news for the new year – taken from Boincstats

Team       Total credit       Credit/day       Credit/week          Credit/month
OcUk       118,830,672         94,128             572,408               3,223,672
UK Boinc    42,173,332       118,636             684,836               3,498,860

Does this make us the No.1 team in the UK going forward into 2007.  The projects are
more interested in how much work we can go in the future, old total credits don’t crunch new work.
Pieter joined us on the 14th with 130,000 climate credits but we are still ahead of the other team on the credit/month total.
